During the evening hours of Monday, December 21, 2015, Marie Antionette Young, passed away at Washington Hospital Center, in the District of Columbia. Born May 31, 1967, in Prince Georges County, she was the daughter of Renee Young.

After graduating from Crossland High school in 1986, Marie entered into the working world at McDonalds. At the age of 24 she welcomed her first child with Marcellus Garris, they named their beautiful baby girl Shanise Tashayla. Five years later, Marie was blessed with a bouncing baby boy named James Nelson III. Marie devoted her life to the well-being of her children while working multiple jobs in the hospitality field.Marie was a diligent and faithful employee of Metropolitian Security Company, where she touched the lives of her many colleagues and visitors to the facility.

A daughter, a sister, a mother, aunt, niece, cousin and dear friend, Marie touched the lives of many and freely gave of herself to help feed , assist and care for others, she was the quintessential servant leader. Marie will always be remembered for her welcoming spirit and willingness to help anyone in any way she could even if it were only for a plate of her world famous fried chicken. She loved dancing and music. With the many crab and card fest gatherings in her home, friends can be found far and wide remembering her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Renee Young. Grandmother, Clementine Ming. Three aunts: Marlene Young, Viola Ming-Copsy (George Copsy), and Yvonne West (Dmitri West). Two uncles: Fuller Ming (Michelle Ming), and Kenyon Ming (Mechelle Nelson-Ming). Four sisters: Kiesha Amos, Jamie Mathieu (Robert Mathieu), Shula Amos, Glennis Amos,Tarsha Warren (Demond Warren). One brother, Kenneth Young (fiancé Shamika Young), and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Life-long companion and friend Elvarnchae Howard. Best friend Robin Gibson, and countless friends, and other relatives.
