My second banjo is an 1895 SS Stewart Orchestra 28 inch scale, that I picked up on Ebay recently. In case you don't know Flint is the only city tougher than Detroit, and that's sayinga lot. Once the bridge has opened up, they will bounce back amazingly quick to the "ideal" spot even if the entire banjo hasn't been played for days. Now I have to try one on my openback. Placed on a properly set-up banjo, the bridge will deliver strong bass and very clear highs--the clearest so far that I've found on a production bridge for the price. I'm using it on a 12" Ramsey open back with a rolled brass tone ring and a John Balch skin head. The 100 year barn bridge alters tone the most.
