Remembering Joseph
Sir Knight Allamon Joseph Guidry was born to Lawrence and Lornea Guidry on November 3, 1949, in Beaumont Texas. Joe had exhibited a deep love for life, a deep love for his family, and a great love of trail riding, which he shared with all whom he held dear.
Joe was a devoted member of St Pius X Catholic Church. He was a member of Council 214 3rd Degree Knights, and the Assembly #18 4th Degree Meritorius Knights. Joe was also a recipient of the 2015 Knights of Peter Claver Murray Frank Honor for Outstanding Achievement. A graduate of the Charlton Pollard class of 1968, Joe began his professional career at Gulf / Chevron Chemicals / Valero in 1976. During his career, Joe held positions as Operator, Head Operator, and Temporary Supervisor. Joe was also a member of the Emergency Response Team trained at Texas A&M University.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lornea Guidry, two sisters, Laura Ward and Irene Martin, and two brothers, James Bias and Marshall Bias. Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted mate of 32 years, Jerry Gloston; six children: Sandra Hadnot, Chiquitha Guidry, Sabrina Broussard, Larissa Wiltz, Jamell Guidry (Stephanie), Adrienne Guidry (Marcus), one step-son Floyd Guidry, Jr. (Mari); one sister Mary Melvo (Milton Sr.); 16 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren; loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raphael and Alice Fontenot; three sisters-in-law: Cheryl Fontenot, Mary Bias, Elizabeth Lewis (Jeff); his special Church Point, Louisiana family, and a host of his St Pius X family, nieces and nephews, and good friends.
Joe passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Joe’s celebratory of life service will be on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Rd., in Beaumont. There will be a visitation at 8 a.m. followed by the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral mass at 10 a.m.
Joe will take his earthly rest at Live Oak Memorial Park .
