Mr. Cornell “Whistle” Parker was born on December 6, 1953, to the late Elgia Lee Lohman and Floree Parker Howell of Clayton, Alabama.

Cornell, his mother, and sisters moved to Haines City, Florida, over 53 years ago. He attended Haines City High School, Class of 1972. Cornell was baptized and accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Winter Haven, FL, where he served as an usher. He later joined St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church, Haines City, FL.

Cornell worked over 40 years as a truck driver for multiple trucking companies, notably, Henry Butler Trucking and Sherwin Williams. He was also the owner and operator of C-Ran Trucking, Inc., for many years. During this time, he not only volunteered many hours giving back to his community via programs such as “Paint Your Heart Out, Winter Haven”, but he was also a mentor to many young men and women who crossed his path.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Floree Parker Howell, father, Elgia Lee Lohman, siblings, Oscar Wilson, Rhonda Parker, and Donald Lohman, grandchild, Devontrius Nelson, and aunt, Marie Clark.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a wife, Linda L. Parker of Haines City, FL; children, Maja Sly of Atlanta, GA, Derrick Whitfield of Haines City, FL, Courtney C. Parker (Haley) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Randy J. Parker (Jenifer) of Winter Haven, FL; stepchildren, Nikki James (Franklin) of Haines City, FL, Monique Williams (Chuck), Antonio Solomon (Fidelia), and Tyrell Solomon (Courtney), all of Winter Haven, FL; god-daughter, Kaira Bowens of Haines City, FL; 34 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; siblings, Ann Sampson of Brandon, FL, Cathy Bush and Evelyn Igbinosun (Taiwo), both of Tampa, FL, Treva Roper (John) of Davenport, FL, Bridgett Parker Betts of Brandon, FL, Linda C. Lohman and Donna F. Lohman, both of Birmingham, AL, Lorenzo Lohman, Gwendolyn Lohman, and Sharon Clark, all of Union City, GA, Vivian Brooks (Donald) of Montgomery, AL, and Sarah Rypkowski (Donald) of Harperwood, MI; special family and friends, Barbara K. Parker, George Jordan, Daniel and Margaret Ragland, Robert and Carolyn Jackson, Curtis White, Melvin Holmes, Leonard Butler, Archie Forte, Bertha Holland, Shirley Hutson, and Rosamae Moore; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
