Subscription Update Obituary

Harold Jones was born July 3, 1937 to Louis and Thelma Sanches of Galveston, Texas. Harold passed away January 17, 2020 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, Texas.

As a young man he graduated from Central High School Class of 1956 in Galveston, Texas. He worked as a longshoreman at the Port of Galveston with the International Longshoreman Association Local #851 until moving to Beaumont.  He began working at the Port Arthur Housing Authority for eight years before retiring.

Harold past time hobbies was playing dominoes and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Harold is survived by his very special friend of 42 years, Gloria Bates; his sons Kenneth Sr. (Cassandra), Alvin Bates, and Darold Blakley; one daughter, Lisa Jones of Galveston, two brothers, two aunts, twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, god-daughter, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

On Saturday, January 25, 2020 there will be a visitation at 1 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. at Paradise Baptist Church, 4390 Fannett Rd. in Beaumont. 

Harold will take his earthly rest at Magnolia Cemetery.
