Karen Lynn Nacoste Taylor was born on September 27, 1981 in Beaumont Texas, to Louis Nacoste and Carrie Harmon. Karen was apart of the trailblazers, the first full graduating class of Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School in 2000. After graduating high school she married her high school sweetheart, the late,Edward Jason Taylor Sr in 2002. Then she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Lamar University. She pursued a career in education for Beaumont Independent School District.
Outside of her profession, Karen had a passion for cooking and baking. Every Christmas the family look forward to her famous sweet potato cake and mocha pecan balls. She also had a great love for family. Through prayer and trusting God, she had her children, Edward Taylor Jr. and Kaitlyn Marie Taylor. She raised her children with unconditional and eternal love.
Karen Taylor departed this earthly life on Saturday, January,12th 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Nacoste, Carrie Harmon and husband Edward Taylor Sr.
Karen is survived by her son, Edward Taylor Jr.; daughter, Kaitlyn Taylor; mother in law, Rosiland Taylor; uncle, Otis Nacoste (Carol); sisters in law, Monica Reynolds, Princess Peter (Abraham Peter), Jerrica Stelly (Devonion Stelly); brothers in law, Daniel Taylor (Brittany Taylor), and Benjamin Taylor ( Ashley Taylor), an aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
On Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Greater Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 3540 S. 11th St. in Beaumont, Texas there will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at 1 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2 p.m.
